Educational Trip–A Success!

Our first educational team to Nicaragua was a success. A team of six teachers from the Charlotte Mecklenburg school system spent their spring break sharing with over 400 students and teachers in three needy schools. The faces of hundreds of school children lighted up as they each received individual pencil pouches filled with school supplies. The team also distributed backpacks filled with teaching supplies to 25 different teachers. The team was welcomed with student presentations of traditional dances and special programs. They visited classrooms and witnessed first hand how teachers with so little are making a difference in the lives of so many children. The trip was a first step to establish an ongoing partnership of support among educators with the same goals but worlds apart.
